Penile Implants
Most problems of erectile dysfunction and impotence are treated non-surgically. However, some patients need a penile prosthesis or implant to regain a normal sexual life. Various types of implants are available including
an inflatable hydraulic implant, a semi-rigid rod implant, or variations of the two. The decision as to the type of implant is made by the patient, depending on his desires or social situation. The success rate for penile implants is over 90%. I have
been performing penile implants for over 20 years with excellent results.
Patients occasionally need a revision of their penile prostheses due to poor positioning or malfunction. Owing to my vast experience with these implants, I also specialize in complicated revisions and re-insertions
of failed prostheses. It is very rare that the prosthesis cannot be repaired or replaced, even if the patient had previous poor positioning and infections. |
